Manuscripts should be addressed to the Editor, The Journal of Phytological Research, India. The submitted article should not have been previously published and is not under publication process anywhere. This journal publishes articles only in English language.
Peer Review
The Journal of Phytological Research is committed to peer-review integrity and upholding the highest review standards. After primary review by the editor, the manuscript will be single-blind peer-reviewed by an anonymous expert.
Categories Of Manuscripts
Types of papers published in the Journal: Research articles, Review articles, Research communications, Scientific notes, and Announcements.
Research articles: current research articles with major significance and contributions to scientific society related to plant science should be submitted. The article should include an abstract with keywords, an introduction, clear subheadings, illustrations to aid general readers, and references.
Review articles: articles relevant to discussing past and current scientific developments related to plant science are expected to be submitted. The article should include an abstract with keywords, an introduction, clear subheadings, illustrations to aid general readers, and references.
Research communications/Scientific notes/Announcements
The articles concerned with new novel discoveries related to plant science with broad interest should be submitted. The article should include an abstract with keywords and an introduction, illustrations to aid general readers, and references.
Manuscript Preparation
Manuscripts should be typed with adequate margins in A4 paper size, double spacing, and justify alignment throughout. All scientific names should be typed in italics. The metric system should be used throughout. The pages in the manuscript should be numbered consecutively starting from the title page and throughout the references, figures, and tables. Tables and figures should be referred to in numerical order.
Manuscripts should be organized in the following order: Title author(s) name(s), institutional affiliation(s), Present address (es), abstract (250 words), keywords (5-8 words in alphabetical order), introduction, material and methods, results and discussion, acknowledgments, references, tables, and illustrations.
The manuscript should be submitted in Microsoft Word (.doc, docx) format. Do not submit the main article, figures, and tables in any other format. Roman script should be used for the title, abstract, keywords, author/s, and affiliations.
Tables and illustrations should be numbered consecutively (Tables/Figs. 1, 2, 3….) And cited in the text. Half-tone reproduction must be clear, well contrasted, glossy prints trimmed at right angles. Colour plates will be inserted only at the author’s expenses. Drawings should be on glazed tracing paper in Indian ink. Figure captions should be self-explanatory. Submit figure in the size that they will appear in the Journal.
Acknowledgments
The acknowledgments should be as brief as possible.
Author contributions
The corresponding author is required to provide information of all the authors contributions in the manuscript. The relevant credit roles of all the authors describing specific contributions to the manuscript output should be mentioned.
Conflict of interest statement
Authors must acknowledge the organizations that have provided financial support for their work. Any other conflict of interest must be declared while submitting the manuscripts.
References
The literature references should be numbered consecutively, typed double-spaced, roman script, and indicated by superscripts in the text serially, but not alphabetically.
Refer to unpublished work only in the text in this manner: (D E Wujek, unpublished), (G. J. Jones, personal communication) Reference should contain number, author(s) surname(s) followed by author(s) initials, year, Title, Journal (underlined), volume number and inclusive page number.

Submission of manuscripts
Submission of an article is understood to imply that the article is original and unpublished and is not being considered for publication elsewhere. The publisher and editors do not own any responsibility for the observations and conclusions arrived at by the author(s).

Open Access
The journal is open access with no charge for readers and other authors.
Publication Charges
There are no submission and processing fees for this journal. Once accepted, publication fees of INR 500 per author/individual of the manuscript will be charged. Color figures will be reproduced in color in your online article free of charge.
Appeals and Complaints
Appeals
The author holds the right to appeal a decision on the submission in case of any unfair or misconduct. For filing an appeal, a letter to the Editor must be sent within ten days of manuscript decision. A review panel will be formed to evaluate the submission, review, and decision process of all the manuscript data submitted. The reports will be analysed by the Editor to take the final decision based on the reports of the review panel.
Complaints
The author (s) may file complain based on journal policies, procedures, staff behaviour, or any technical problem to the Editor with relevant data and details. Complaints submitted through proper channel will be reviewed and resolved as per data and procedure.
